Anonymous asked: Hi. :) I really like your wardrobe. I'm working on building my wardrobe but I'm having some problems in deciding on how to pick out clothes and what should be considered when deciding whether or not to buy them or whether or not matches the wardrobe enough. Do you have any tips?
Since I do not know what kind of wardrobe you have (and want), these tips will be very general.
- Choose dresses, skirts and core pieces that fit your body type, face type, skin tone and hair colour.
- Have basic pieces (like blouses, cardigan, tights, etc.) in basic colours first (this depends on the colour of your dresses/skits, but in my case, basic colours are off-white and ivory), than try finding them in colours that would match most of your wardrobe (in my case, that would be dusty pink, brown, blue and wine). Also, try to have at least one blouse (or cutsew, depending on which you prefer) in short sleeves and one in long sleeves, and try to have different neck styles (high neck, peter pan collar, square neck, etc.) That way, instead of having 3 white peter pan collar blouses, you’ll have 3 different ones, for a greater variety in styles.
- Accessories and shoes are the final touch. This is where I go crazy with colour. Basic colours for shoes and accessories would be black, brown and off-white. Black goes well with almost everything except brown, navy and all white/pastel. Brown is great with almost everything except black (goes well with wine, navy, ivory, pink, mint, etc!). And off-white is great with paler outfits. Once you have these, you can have fun with colours and style. I personally LOVE belts as they can be matched with your shoes/purse and add a nice touch.
That is pretty much what I can tell you without neither knowing you or your wardrobe. If you could give me pictures of the pieces you already have and your measurements/skin and hair colour, I could help you more.
